About OIRP

The Office of Institutional Research and Planning (OIRP) facilitates continuous improvement and effective data-driven decision making through the provision of timely and accurate information and analyses to support senior management in their academic planning, decision making, and monitoring of University performance. The OIRP enables more evidence-based decision making using institutional analytics and business intelligence as a foundation. Insights delivered by OIRP support the implementation of the Institutional Strategic Plan (2018-2028), and policy development in the University.

Main responsibilities
 
  • Collect and analyse data for planning, monitoring, and assessment purposes to support executive decision making.

  • Coordinate the development and periodic review of the Institutional Strategic Plan.

  • Develop KPIs and targets to facilitate the implementation and evaluation of initiatives to improve performance in key strategic priority areas.

  • Conduct institutional benchmarking studies to analyse trends and developments in higher education.

  • Support robust data governance and data management practices and policies.

  • Provide accurate and timely analysis, insights, reports and dashboards based on reliable data to enable evidence-based management decisions.

  • Coordinate the compilation and reporting of institutional data for statutory reporting to Government and other external stakeholders.
  • Prepare submissions to University rankings and analyse results.
